Located in the heart of Seattle, the University of Washington is recognized for more than just its stellar academics. In fact, the school fields nine men's sports (baseball, basketball, crew, cross country, football, golf, soccer, tennis, and track and field) as well as ten women's sports. (basketball, crew, cross country, golf, gymnastics, soccer, softball, tennis, track and field, and volleyball).

Although not as large as University of Washington, in terms of both enrollment and sports teams, Seattle University's athletics record is still quite impressive. Also a Division 1 team in the varsity sports that it plays, Seattle University is most known for its basketball team, which flourished late in the 1900s under several superstar players. Nonetheless, the Redhawks still provide many interesting games each year.
